Every SIX IMPOSSIBLE THINGS bag is truly 'handmade' from start to finish by Rachel Morris Des Cotes. Hand cut, hand stitched, hand finished. No shortcuts. Just hands.
Rachel was raised in the North West of England and has lived in Vancouver - vibrant with artistic expression and outdoorsy pursuits - since her early 20's. Rachel was introduced to leather work at a young age by her grandfather but has been primarily self-taught under the mentoring eye of her brother Stephen - a craftsman of many talents and an inspirational designer. SIX IMPOSSIBLE THINGS was founded in 2018 and references a line in Lewis Carrolls 'Alice Through the Looking Glass'. It speaks to ambition, hope, bravery, empowerment, pursuit, perspective - even whimsy. And so, SIX IMPOSSIBLE THINGS is about simple delights and lasting treasures. An inspired leather goods brand devoted to reimagining classic and minimalist forms with whimsy.
All SIX IMPOSSIBLE THINGS pieces are 100% genuine leather. Leather is a natural and organic material that can sometimes show signs of a previous life before it meets your hands! Small deviations in texture are normal and celebrated!
SIX IMPOSSIBLE THINGS leather is a byproduct of the meat industry and diverts it from landfill.
The Book Clutch is inspired by leather-bound journals and whimsically sized to fit a treasure map drawn by my son. A textured and soft clutch, it speaks to journeys past and those yet to come. It also fits a number of iPad sizes too; if your whimsy is also super practical.
