Tumbled gemstone chips are the basis for Kara Yoo's reimagination of the puka shell bracelets and necklaces popular in their youth. Here, Kara has tried to elevate them by matching them with baroque rice pearls.
These are lavender amethyst chips, which give a bit more of a laid-back vibe than you would get with a more intense hue.

About the studio
Kara Yoo is a design and manufacturing studio located in North Vancouver. Almost everything is designed and made in-house. The studio has a strong focus on simple, yet striking designs, with nuanced proportions and silhouettes. Each piece is designed and constructed with a central creed - that it is made to wear.
With a background in commerce and metalsmithing, Kara takes a pragmatic approach to design, working with materials in their physical form to create designs with a keen sense of modularity. Ease and playfulness are the key foundations of each collection. The studio is Asian and woman-owned; and works with and supports other Asian, POC and women-owned businesses.
